What Is AI Quality Assurance?

AI Quality Assurance (AI QA) is the discipline of validating that AI systems behave correctly, safely, and reliably in real-world conditions. Instead of checking only that code paths execute, AI QA focuses on whether model outputs meet quality standards such as accuracy, safety, fairness, and stability over time.

On a high level, AI QA answers four questions:

• Does the model solve the business problem with sufficient accuracy?
• Is the system safe and aligned with your policies and regulations?
• Does performance stay stable as data and usage change?
• Can you explain and monitor the system in production?
